I have about $300 worth of Circle incoming right now and I am most excited about getting this guy and Cormac.

Circle Engine

Cant wait to get my hands on this one.  I have made a ton of progress on my army but just havent posted any pics.  I shalll soon.  I got Grayle, Druids unit, Nyss hunters, Druid Wilder, Gnarlhorn and a War Wolf all done and ready.   The army has really come together and I am very happy with it right now.

Starting to really like Warmahordes

It has been a great time getting the army together and learning the new system.  I am almost done painting up to 25 points and just ordered some new minis from FRP games to get to 35.  I couldnt resist the epic Kaya and a Gnarlwood Satyr.

Overall even though I am getting my ass kicked repeatedly I really like how the game works and how games flow.  I played yesterday after work and was able to get in a solid, non rushed game in under 1 hour and 15 minutes.  The system is really slick and it just moves fast.  I cant really tell why its so much faster than 40k but it just flows better.

I am leaning towards passing on Ard Boyz now just so that I can secure more playing time for Hordes from the wife.  I only have 1 complaint about the whole deal:  PPress needs a unifying name for the system, Warmahordes sounds horrible from a Branding perspective.

I had a great time playing and want to play more.  As expected I got pounded my first game since I had totally blew deployment and understanding of cover but thats ok.

The Feral Warpwolves are pretty awesome and even tho the internets seem to poo on her, Kaya seemed really cool to me.  I have some work to do but I think I am pretty set for now.  The only minis i am eyeballing now is the Lord of the Feast and some other Warpwolves.

Hopefully I will get some painting in this week and more games in soon.  I dont really want to post any pics or anything until I have my army painted up.  I hate fielding unpainted minis, it drives me bonkers.

Here is the Warpwolf I am working on. Its a great mini even tho I struggled with the building for a couple hours and coated my fingers in superglue.

Been priming and building.

Work had me travelling a bit but this month I should be able to buckle down  and get working.  I have my 25 point army built but I bet its going to get reamed oftern

Great Kubla con

Overall this was the best Kubla con I have attended.

Top notch opponents especially my second and third game.

Great missions:  Really fun and different plus.

Great terrain and organization.  The guys that ran it this year just had it down.  Really well done

I got reamed on painting again but I dont really know what to say about that.  Maybe next time I will make sure I am there when the judge is in order to point everything out.  A little bummed here but its ok.

I will try and get some write ups and post the missions this week they were very cool

Ready for Kubla

Just finished this morning the whole army.  Hopefully tonight I get a chance to take a pic before I pack em up.

I am pretty excited for tomorrow and looking forward to meeting some new people and hopefully winning some games.

My list is:

3/ 2 Obliterator squads

I know the Obliterator squads are a bit beardy but I am going to be going against SpaceWolves and I know my comp score will be fucked.  Considering that I played against 2 Razorback spam armies last time that had high comp scores who knows.

Regardless of the comp stuff I know I will have a good time.  This is always a fun tourney and I had some good practice this time.

Defiler out the door

They got voted off the island.

My main reason was that I just didnt see how I could effectively field them with all these tanks, MCs and Dreads.  I didnt want them to cause a traffic jam and cause they can shoot its too tempting to do that even tho its lame.

So my new list for Kubla is looking like:
2 DP Nurgle WT
Summoned Greater Daemon
2 CSM dreads with CC option
2 2 bikers with metlas and 1 with nothing
2 5 CSM squad in rhino 1 melta
2 4 CSM with a Champ 1 melta
3 2 obilt squads

6 oblits should provide a lot more FP and I could always DS them if I wanted to be crazy.

Playtesting my kubla list

Finally got a game in at 1850 with the deflier and my CSM Zilla list.

Overall I was pretty happy but I was not aggressive enough.  I need to push more of my army on top of my opponents if I am going to stand a chance.  I seriously dont know how I will handle long range and horde armies but it will be fun.

I just need not to overthink myself into bad decisions.

Game of Thrones was great

Very impressive.

I was very happy with the first episode.  The entire time I was thinking: " I can't believe that HBO is doing such a great job."  Not that I  had doubts I just wondered if it was doable.

Got my pass for KublaCon

Got my pass yesterday and am now signed up to play.

I am running CSM Zilla this year.

 I am tired of trying to play powerlists and overthinking them everytime so I am going to roll this:
2 DP wings/nurgle/Warptime
2 CSM Dreadnoughts CC arms
2 Defliers CC arms
Summoned Greater Daemon
4/ 5 CSM squads 1 melta and Aspir champs in Rhinos
2/ 3 CSM biker squads 2 meltas 1 Aspir Champs with pfist

I might tweak some things to either get zerkers instead of csms or maybe some combi-meltas on the champs.

Its a pretty simple list and basically just charges forward and gets the shit shot out of it.

Waiting for my first Hordes minis

I was supposed to get them yesterday but I am hoping they show up tomorrow.

I am really excited to get my Circle Battlegroup in order to start building up this new army.  I grabbed the rules at Game Kastle last weekend and so far I really like it.  I can't wait to start playing some games and figuring it out.  The game has some nice complexities to it and I think will be one that you can really grow into.

First Warmachine/Hordes game

Got a chance to get a little tutorial last night of Warmahordes and I have to say I really enjoyed it.  Many thanks to our teacher who was very patient.  I think I got a slight grasp of the system last night and it was very interesting.  Much more involved than GW's ruleset in some ways and  the rules seem very clear.  I am very impressed by the rapid development of Army books and updates but I have heard they are having some problems keeping up with demand.

So the big new is that I broke down and started bidding this morning on a Circle lot on Ebay.  I have decided to go for the druids just to do something completely different.  If I really get into it than Cryx will be my Warmachine army but I want to kick off with the Druids.  Even if I dont win this auction I am going to grab some minis soon.

This means my new goal with the Vcounts army is to finish building them and get them play ready and I think I will bust into painting as soon as I can on the Orbos stuff.

Ghoul dipping

Dipped the first batch with my oil based neon green mixed with Army Painter combo.

It got a little globby but overall its ok.  I am a little worried that they arent going to look that great but we shall see.  I still need to hit them with the dullcote and touch up but they are almost there.

 I am not too concerned on these since I think if I really get into Vcounts I will be replacing the ghouls with GWs eventually.

Progress on the Ghouls

Not the most fun but it is moving forward.

I just got this first batch of 20 ready for a massive dipping session today. There is a couple of experiments going on here and I am having a lot of faith in the Army Painter goodness right now.

I just really want to power through these Ghouls because I think generally they look pretty booty.
